I had a lot of fun singing and working on this assignment! From writing out the chord progression, to figuring out the best possible voice leading, to singing all the different parts; I felt that this was a very hands-on way of learning solfege, voice leading, and dictation. I think I’m the most successful and learn the most when I can see how all the parts that go into making music fit together, such as voice-leading, tuning, timing, the sounds of different chord progressions and so on. While I really enjoyed the assignment, I faced a few challenges along the way and had to re-record a few times. The most difficult part of this assignment (aside from pitching the correct notes) was singing over the other parts while keeping everything in time and in tune. I definitely struggled a little bit with timing at the beginning and some tuning problems here and there (fa in particular), but overall I’m very proud of what I’ve created!
